level descriptions

Our philosophy of teaching focuses on building not only technical strength and artistic excellence but also confidence and self-esteem. In addition to the professional experience and diverse backgrounds of our faculty, our curriculum incorporates elements from the techniques of Al Gilbert, USA Gymnastics, and the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum™ syllabus.  Class placement is by the staff.

 

Beginner - (ages 3-4) Must be 3yrs old by 9/30/2026

In this class, children explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, and stimulate imagination and creativity, while learning how to work together within a classroom environment like taking turns and following new instruction.  They also have a lot of fun working with props, leaping like frogs and swirling like the wind.  Parents of this class are asked to remain on the premise during class times.  This class enhances on the strength and flexibility needed for dance and acro steps and skills.  Classes incorporate Ballet and Tap Technique and Dance Choreography.  They will have the opportunity to perform in our annual winter's ballet performance as well as a tap dance in our end of season performance.

Beg/Int - Combo Class (ages 5-7) Must be 5yrs old by 9/30/2026

Intermediate - Combo Classes (ages 7-10) Must be 7yrs old by 9/30/2026

Designed for students who want to learn how to dance in a fun setting.  These classes increase strength, flexibility, rhythm and mobility.  At this level, students can choose from one or two classes covering up to four disciplines. Ballet students have the opportunity to perform in our annual winter's ballet performance as well as up to 2 pieces in tap and/or jazz/hip hop styles in our end of season performance.

Beg/Adv (by placement) are challenged to improve themselves.  We offer a variety of dance styles for this level and encourage enrolling in multiple disciplines for well roundness and performing opportunities.

-Ballet 

-Technique (consist of modern, lyrical, jazz and contemporary styles and must be enrolled in 2 ballet classes)

-Tap

-Hip Hop

-Stretch & Conditioning

-Skills (consist of acro, leaps & jumps)

Choreo/Improv

-Ballet Barre (must be enrolled in a ballet class)

 

Int/Adv (by placement)

These dancers have an integrated curriculum of classes spanning up to several years of training in various styles.  Dancers in this level may train several hours a week in multiple disciplines and are encouraged to both audition and perform for additional experience. 

-Ballet

-Pointe (by placement and enrolled in 2 ballet classes)

-Technique (consist of modern, lyrical, jazz and contemporary styles and must be enrolled in ballet)

-Tap

-Hip Hop

-Stretch & Strength

-Skills (consist of acro, leaps & jumps)

-Choreo/Improv

-Ballet Barre

 

Advanced (by placement)

These dancers have an integrated curriculum of classes spanning to several years of training in various styles.  Dancers in this level may train several hours a week in multiple disciplines and are encouraged to both audition and perform for additional experience.  These students prepare for Govenor school programs, college dance programs, and/or other dance and theatre related career paths in the industry.  These dancers are also mentored as they explore in choreography and assist in teaching classes.

-Ballet (must be enrolled in ballet barre)

-Pointe (by placement and enrolled in 2 ballet classes)

-Technique (consist of modern, lyrical, jazz and contemporary styles and must be enrolled in 2 ballet classes)

-Tap
